Self-hypnosis

Self-hypnosis and imagery techniques are key skills for self-control and Mental Toughness. Self-hypnosis has many applications and can be learned within a few sessions, it can be taught during ongoing treatment or by itself. Once you know the techniques it can be used across different areas of your life. To practise is easy and you only need to find a quiet place for 5 - 10 minutes, twice a day to achieve lasting benefits, the more you practise the better. After a short while you will be able to enter this beneficial state whenever you need to, even in noisy and uncomfortable conditions such as on the tube or bus.

Creating a Mental Oasis

People often use self-hypnosis to create their own "mental oasis"; a place where they can relax or think and problem solve. This could be a garden, a beach or a comfortable room; anything you like, as you are the director and these places can be real or imaginary.

Mental Rehearsal & Preparation

During self-hypnosis we can use our imagination to great effect, this can help us to achieve our desired outcomes or goals. Whilst being in this comfortable relaxed state we can give ourselves all the positive and beneficial suggestions we need. We can also use self-hypnosis to mentally rehearse and prepare for vocal and dramatic performances, business meetings and presentations or sport and competition.
